Dr. Michele Scrime holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Union College in Schenectady, NY (1989). She graduated magna cum laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1993. There, she was a member of the distinguished Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.
She earned her post-doctoral certificate in endodontics from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. While at Harvard, she also earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Science and took part in original research, which was awarded a patent in 2004. The patent, entitled “Characterization of an antibiotic impregnated delivery system as an intracanal medicament in endodontic therapy,” demonstrated that delivering a small dosage of an antibiotic directly into a tooth was as effective as a larger oral dosage.
Upon completion of her studies in Boston, Dr. Scrime returned to her home state of New Jersey and has since been in private practice specializing in endodontics.
Dr. Scrime is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society. She has lectured for the Union College Pre-Medical Society and the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Assisting Society.
During her leisure hours, Dr. Scrime enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and traveling, both here and abroad.
